Most people know how important it is to protect your skin from the sun and the harsh UV rays during the hot summer months approaching…. but what about protecting your hair?
Intense UV light can cause just as much damage to your locks. Overexposure can make hair more dry, rougher and more brittle or even straw like. Color can also fade much faster, or even change. Here’s some helpful tips…
*If you can, wear a hat! Especially if you plan to be in the sun for long periods of time.
*If hats aren’t your thing… try an updo or wrapping it up. The ends of your hair are the oldest and weakest part of the strand and are more likely to be damaged. Partial coverage is better than none.
*Stay away from peroxide and alcohol.
*Make sure your hair is getting the moisture it needs! Using a good leave-in conditioner with a UV protectant and detangler is a MUST!
I’ve recommended Welker rePHreshed hair care products before, and right now you can get free shipping with the purchase of a travel kit (airline approved) that includes a great leave-in conditioner and sulfate-free shampoo…
